January Blooms

The east coast is blanketed in snow — again — but here in S. California it has been hot and dry for days and days. The sunny colors of yellow and orange are splashed around at ground level, too, as the succulents along my street have erupted into bloom, along with the weeds. Here is a sampling:

Big aloe -- does anyone know the species?

Aeonium inflorescence

Aloe cluster

Crassula bloom

Miscellaneous Acacia in bloom

Pearl Acacia

Wild Sunflowers among the weeds

Cistus (with just a spot of yellow)
